Happy to announce the seminar

Drought impacts on forests – potential adaptation strategies

At Room 200, 2nd Floor Herderbau, Tennenbacher Str. 4, 79106 Freiburg, Germany.

On Monday, July 2nd 2018,   2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.

The seminar will feature six presentations on different aspects of drought impacts on forests and potential adaptation strategies. Droughts can alter the conditions in which trees grow and regenerate, triggering changes in the productivity, structure and composition of forests. Such events and their impacts on forest ecosystems need to be understood, in terms of both the climatic drivers that determine exposure and the mechanisms that affect system sensitivity. Forest management can play a crucial role within the context of global climate change, by adopting effective strategies to minimize drought impacts on forests and their ecosystem services. The seminar is organized by Sumforest – ForRISK within the network of the NFZ.forestnet.

Attendance at the seminar is free of charge.
